I need help with funds to move my mother whom is 68y/o and myself to NC. I moved to Virginia Beach in January 2011 for a really good job and everything was going great until I got injured in May. I tried working with the injury but the pain and swelling got so bad I could hardly walk. I am a professional healthcare employee who is always taking care of someone and I always do my very best to take very good care of my patients and my mother. My doctor put me out of work in May and I went out on medical leave and I was scheduled for surgery. Three days before the surgery I got a letter in the mail telling me that I was terminated from my employment and that my health insurance would stop at the 1st of the month which happened to be the very same day my surgery would take place. So I couldn't have the surgery and nothing has changed with the injury but I can't go to the doctor since I don’t have insurance now. I have a list of health issues that are causing the injuring to be hard to treat that are directly related to cancer therapy that I had several years ago. My mother is not healthy and is very weak. We have no family in this area and we are in a horrible situation. We are going to be evicted soon within the next 2 weeks and I don’t have the money to pay someone to move us or to rent a truck. I am not physically able and neither is my mother to move furniture or even boxes. We are looking at moving back to NC since the cost of living is much cheaper and I may be able to go back to college to find a job that doesn't require the use of my legs which are very weak as a result of the cancer. I have applied for unemployment and I will go back to work but I am not sure how well I will do considering the injury and I have put in more than 20 apps with very few interviews and after the interview I don’t get called back. I am a good employee, I do work through a lot of pain most every day of my life which is a result of the cancer but the injury was just too much and I wanted to get the injury corrected so I could be back to normal.
